The Thunder Bay Police Service is investigating a threat that has been made against Westgate High School.
Police were made aware of a threat that was posted on Snapchat after 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10. The snap featured a photograph of what appears to be a rifle with a caption “watch out Westgate.”
The complaint was immediately handed over to the service’s Major Crime Section and officers continue to investigate. School Resource Officers are also assisting with the investigation and liaising with school board officials.
As a precaution, Lakehead Public Schools has closed Westgate for Friday, Oct. 11. For further and up-to-date information about the status of local schools please visit school boards’ social media accounts and websites:
