The Thunder Bay Police Service continues to investigate the circumstances that led to an adult male entering the Kaministiquia River at the James Street Swing Bridge Tuesday evening.
First responders from the police service, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, and Superior North EMS were initially dispatched to the area just after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7 following reports that a male had jumped or fell from the bridge.
Firefighters with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue successfully retrieved the male from the waterways, and he was then transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for further evaluation and treatment of his injuries.
The exact extent of those injuries are unknown, but not believed to be life-threatening.
