The Thunder Bay Police Service has released the scene of a sudden death investigation on the city’s southside following the completion of a post-mortem examination of the deceased.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers were originally dispatched to the zero-to-100 block of Simpson Street near the Kaministiquia River Heritage Park just after 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, after a passerby called 911 to report what appeared to be a body in the water.
The body of a deceased adult male was located and retrieved. The deceased has since been identified as Thomas KWASNY, 33, of Thunder Bay. Next of kin has been notified.
A post-mortem examination was completed in Toronto on Wednesday, June 16. Police released the scene at the Kam River Park in the late afternoon hours that same day.
The investigation remains ongoing.
