The investigation into an incident that led to a water rescue at McVicar Creek on Thursday is ongoing, however, the matter is now considered private and no further media updates are expected.

First responders engaged in water rescue
First responders were dispatched to McVicar Creek on Algoma Street North just after 12:45 p.m. following reports of someone possibly trapped in the waterway.
Members with the Thunder Bay Police Service, firefighters with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, and paramedics with Superior North EMS were all dispatched to the scene.
While en route, first responders learned a victim in the waterway may have been a child.
An adult woman and child have been transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for further treatment.
Their condition is unknown at this time.
