An accused male arrested and charged amid an investigation into a robbery at a southside gas bar has received additional charges related to other incidents of robbery and theft.
A 28-year-old male was arrested by the Thunder Bay Police Service on Monday, March 8 for his role in the March 6 robbery of an Esso on Arthur Street West.
Continued investigation by members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Break and Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit found the same accused was involved in other criminal incidents.
A shoplifting incident occurred at the LCBO on Arthur Street West just after noon on Saturday, March 6, while an incident of robbery took place at the same location on Monday March 8. During the March 8 incident, the accused assaulted a security guard while making his way to the exit.
As a result of these incidents, Sage Curtis MOONIAS, 28, of Marten Falls, is being charged additionally with:
• Robbery with an Offensive Weapon (non-firearm)
• Theft Under $5,000
• Disguise With Intent
• Breach of Probation x 4

Robbery Suspect Arrested
Police have arrested a suspect connected to a recent gas bar robbery on the city’s southside.
The initial incident occurred just after 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 6 at the Esso gas bar on Arthur Street West.
Police learned a male had entered the gas bar, approached the employee and made demands for money. During this encounter, the accused threw a debit PIN pad device at the employee.
The accused fled the gas bar on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Break and Enter and Robbery Unit became involved in the investigation. As a result of the ongoing investigative efforts, police identified and arrested the accused in the afternoon of Monday, March 8.
Sage Curtis MOONIAS, 28, of Marten Falls, is charged with:
• Robbery With Violence
• Disguise With Intent
• Breach of Probation x 2
He appeared in bail court on Tuesday, March 9 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
