Johnathon Mark MCKAY, 40, of Thunder Bay has been charged with Second-Degree Murder in connection with the homicide of Nazareth Andrew KWANDIBENS.
Officers were originally dispatched to a residential address in the 300 block of Arundel Street just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13 following reports of a death.
Paramedics with Superior North EMS and Firefighters with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue were also dispatched to the scene. First responders attempted to resuscitate a victim, who was later identified as KWANDIBENS.
Investigators with the Major Crimes Unit confirmed the nature of the death was consistent with a homicide.
The accused was identified and arrested Wednesday, Nov. 13 and appeared in bail court Thursday, Nov. 14.
MCKAY has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date of Dec. 11, 2019.
Police continue to hold the scene. A post-mortem examination will take place in Toronto. The investigation is ongoing.
