Two males have been arrested for aggravated assault and two other males are in the hospital with serious injuries following a Sunday afternoon incident on the city’s south side.
A concerned citizen called 911 just after 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1 after observing two males who appeared to be injured walking in an area of Riverview Drive. An off-duty officer also observed these apparent injured males enter an apartment on Limbrick Street.
The concern for their wellbeing came from witness reports of a significant amount of blood on the two males.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to the Limbirck Street apartment to check on the welfare of the possibly injured males. When police arrived they learned the two males were not injured, and the blood observed came from two other males who were at an unknown location.
A search was conducted, which included assistance from the K-9 Unit, and the two adult male victims were located in the 500 block of Riverview Drive near the Neebing River.
Both male victims were transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for treatment of their injuries. The two males located at the Limbrick apartment were taken into custody.
Both are expected to appear in bail court this morning to face several charges including Aggravated Assault.
The identity of the accused males will be released following that court appearance.
