An early morning search warrant has resulted in a significant seizure of suspected cocaine and fentanyl, along with two loaded handguns.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service's Intelligence Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Task Unit and Ontario Provincial Police's Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, executed a search warrant at a Tupper Street residence on the morning of Wednesday, October 30.
Two male suspects were located within the residence. Both were arrested and taken into custody.
Officers seized nearly a kilogram each of suspected cocaine and fentanyl. The street value of the seized drugs is estimated to be $470,000.
Two loaded handguns were also seized from the residence, along with a quantity of cash that is believed to exceed $80,000.
Devin FERRIS, 22, and a 17-year-old youth from Brampton, are charged with the following:
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl)
• Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000
• Knowledge of Possession of Unauthorized Firearm x2
• Careless Storage of a Firearm x2
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2
• Possession of Prohibited Firearm x2
• Possession of Prohibited Device
• Possession of Firearm Obtained by Crime
FERRIS is also charged with Breach of Release Order.
The accused appeared in court later Wednesday and have been remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
