A Thunder Bay man and Toronto man have been arrested and charged after police seized a quantity of cocaine and fentanyl at a southside home Wednesday.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at a residential address in the 200 block of Simpson Street just after 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25. The warrant was obtained amid an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity occurring at that address.

Police located multiple people inside when they entered, including two male suspects who were subsequently arrested.

Both were transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.

A search of the home led to the seizure of a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, a quantity of suspected fentanyl, cash and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

The estimated street value of drugs seized totals more than $32,000 CAD.

Walter Benjamin JEDYK, 54, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

Nathan KABWE, 24, of Toronto, is charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Breach of Probation

KABWE’s breach of probation charge relates to a condition in which prohibited from being in Thunder Bay with the exception of court appearances.

Both accused appeared in bail court on Thursday, May 26 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates
