Police arrested two local people connected to an investigation of ongoing drug trafficking activity in the Westfort area Wednesday.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit along with members of the OPP executed a search warrant at a residential address in the 500-block of Gore Street West at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
Police located and arrested two suspects inside the apartment, one of whom attempted to resist police and prevent them from entering one of the apartment’s bedrooms.
A search of the home resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, a quantity of suspected cocaine, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
The estimated street value of drugs seized totals more than $12,000.
Kyle Wade Marcus LEWIS, 35, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Resist Peace Officer
Dayna Marie NOLAN, 33, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
Both appeared in bail court on Thursday, Sept 3 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
