The Thunder Bay Police Service is proud to join our law enforcement partners to mark Police Week, which runs from May 12-18.
This year's provincial theme is “Join Policing: Keep Ontario Safe," which emphasizes the important role police members play in community safety, and how members of the community can take an active role in keeping Ontario safe by joining this rewarding profession.
“Police Week is a time to pay genuine tribute to the dedicated members on the front lines and behind the scenes serving and protecting our community. I recognize the good work done by our members and look forward to sharing my appreciation during the week,” Thunder Bay Police Service Chief Darcy Fleury said.
“Police Week is also an opportunity to strengthen partnerships between the Thunder Bay Police Service and the communities we serve. Open dialogue, understanding, and mutual respect supports everyone to feel valued and protected. That is why several community activities will be held. By engaging and highlighting the crucial work we do, we build awareness and demonstrate our value, expertise, and unwavering commitment."
The annual Police Week in Ontario is sponsored by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) and the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General. It is part of the National Police Week led by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police.
