Police arrested three GTA residents in Thunder Bay Saturday night amid an investigation into drug-trafficking related offences.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were dispatched to a residential address in the 500 block of McTavish Street to check on the welfare of a male in possible distress just after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021.
When police arrived they confirmed the whereabouts and safety of the male.

Police learned three individuals from the GTA were inside the home and possibly hiding or destroying suspected narcotics. An investigation led to the discovery of paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and a quantity of cash exceeding $5,000, which is believed to have been obtained via drug-trafficking activity.

Three suspects were arrested without incident. During their arrests, police discovered one male suspect was in possession of a concealed non-firearm weapon.

The suspects were transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.

Isabel DELATORRE, 22, of Mississauaga, Ont., is charged with:
• Possession of a Schedule 2 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

Diandrea Christian MALCOLM-DAVIS, 23, of Mississauga, Ont., is charged with:
• Possession of a Schedule 2 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon

A 17-year-old Toronto male is charged with:
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Possession of a Schedule 2 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

The youth charged cannot be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

All three appeared in bail court on Sunday, Jan. 31, and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
