Three southern Ontario males have been arrested on drugs and weapons charges after police executed a pair of search warrants.
The Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit began an investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity earlier this month.
Members of the Intelligence Unit and Emergency Task Unit executed warrants at residences on Court Street South and Sills Street on the afternoon of Thursday, October 10.
A search of the residences led to the seizure of quantities of suspected crack cocaine and fentanyl, along with more than $53,000 in cash and two sawed-off shotguns.
Three male suspects were located and arrested. One of the arrested males had conditions to not be in the City of Thunder Bay.
Jermaine HOSANG, 24, of Toronto; Benjamin Jones, 28, of Toronto; and Mohamed ANIMER, 25, of Toronto, are each charged with:
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
• Careless Storage of a Firearm x2
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2
• Possession of a Prohibited Firearm x2
• Possession of a Firearm with an Altered Serial Number
HOSANG is also charged with Breach of a Release Order. JONES is also charged with Breach of Probation and Possession of a Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order x3. ANIMER is also charged with Possession of a Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition Order x2.
The accused appeared in court on Friday and have been remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
