The Thunder Bay Police Service is investigation a threat that has been directed at St. Patrick High School.

Police were made aware of a post on Snapchat around 8 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11. Investigators later that morning determined the post was a threat directed at St. Patrick High School later that morning.

The threat involved a snap showing what appeared to be a photograph of a rifle with a caption insinuating an attack against the school.

The complaint was immediately handed over to the service’s Major Crime Section and officers are now investigation the origin of this threat.

The post is similar to an earlier threat directed at Westgate High School via Snapchat.

The Thunder Bay Police Service’s Cyber Crime Unit and School Resource Unit are also assisting with these investigations.
