A suspended driver who refused to stop for police was arrested following a motor-vehicle collision and a brief foot pursuit on Boxing Day.

A Thunder Bay Police Service officer with the Traffic Unit was in the area of the 100 block of Sherbrooke Street just before 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 26 when he observed an SUV being driven in an erratic and dangerous manner.

The officer observed the motorist travelling at a high rate of speed and ignoring stop signs. The officer also observed signs the motorist may have been impaired. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Edward Street near Redwood Avenue, but the motorist ignored them and continued.
