A Toronto youth on court-ordered conditions to remain at a residential address in that city was located and arrested in Thunder Bay Tuesday.
At about 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20 members of the Community Oriented Response (COR) Unit attended an address in the 100 block of Cumberland Street South. The officers’ attendance was part of an ongoing investigation into a possible home takeover involving unwanted individuals suspected to be in the drug trafficking trade.
When police arrived they learned an unwanted male was inside the home. Officers entered and located the male suspect inside a bedroom.
The suspect identified himself to police, but further investigation revealed he was providing a false identity.
When officers learned of the male’s true identity, they discovered he was in violation of a judicial release order requiring him to remain at a specific residence in Toronto.
The youth was arrested without further incident.
A 15-year-old Toronto male is charged with:
• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Failure to Comply with a Judicial Release x 2
The accused cannot be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The youth appeared in bail court on Wednesday, Oct. 21 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
