An investigation into suspected drug trafficking has resulted in the seizure of several firearms.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Intelligence Unit executed a warrant at a Gertrude Avenue residence on Thursday, August 29, as a result of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity.
A suspect was located outside the residence and was arrested without incident. The suspect was found in possession of suspected crack cocaine and a knife.
A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of multiple firearms and ammunition. The firearms include a shotgun, a rifle, two handguns, and a concealable single-fire handgun.
Brayden FARRELL, 20, of Hamilton, is charged with the following:
• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
• Careless Storage of a Firearm x5
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Firearm x4
• Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2
• Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition x4
• Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition x5
• Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x6
• Breach of Probation
The accused appeared in court last week and has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
