It took Thunder Bay Police Service officers about 13 minutes to locate the suspect of a recent convenience store robbery.

Officers were dispatched to the Circle K convenience store at 601 Edward Street North at 7:57 p.m. on Friday, June 21 following reports of a robbery that had just occurred.

At 8:10 p.m. a detective constable with the service’s Community Response Team reported locating a woman who matched the suspect description associated with the robbery.

An investigation revealed that the female suspect had entered the convenience store and eventually approached the clerk with a number of items for purchase. As the clerk began scanning the items the female suspect brandished a knife and demanded money.

The female exited the store running southbound on Edward Street, before being quickly apprehended by officers.

Ashley LAMBERT, 26, of Thunder Bay, was charged with Robbery.

The stolen money was returned to the convenience store.
