Police arrested a male following a reported Monday evening assault in the city’s intercity area.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Northern Avenue just before 9:55 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28 following reports of a disturbance.
When police arrived they located the apparent victims and accused at the scene.
An investigation revealed the incident began when a male resident heard loud noises between their home and a neighbour’s. The male went outside and located the male suspect.
The resident questioned this male, at which point the accused assaulted the resident. A female, who was a resident of the same home, heard the disturbance and went outside to intervene. She too was assaulted by the accused male.
A motorist in the area who saw the assault in progress intervened to help prevent the assault from continuing.
The male victim was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for treatment of injuries sustained during the assault.
The male accused was arrested without further incident.
Garrett HUBBARD, 19, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Assault. He appeared in bail court Tuesday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
