A Thunder Bay man and woman were charged Wednesday with drug-trafficking related offences following reports of a suspicious vehicle.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were dispatched to an area of Grenville Avenue and Shipyard Drive just before 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7 following reports of a suspicious vehicle.
When officers arrived they located the vehicle and found it had become stuck in the mud on a private roadway.
When officers approached they observed several signs that the vehicle’s two occupants, a male and female, were impaired by drug.
Further investigation revealed the pair was in possession of property suspected to have been obtained by crime and tools consistently used for breaking and entering.
Police also learned the two suspects were in possession of a quantity of crystal methamphetamine, a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, a quantity of suspected fentanyl, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
Christopher Steve ALEXIOU, 35, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Mischief Under $5,000
• Possession of Break-in Instruments
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Courtney Dawn VANDENBROEKE, 35, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Mischief Under $5,000
• Possession of Break-in Instruments
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Both appeared in bail court on Thursday, April 8 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
