Police arrested five suspects, including two Southern Ontario men, for drug trafficking related offences Monday.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a residential address in the 1700 block of Sills Street at about 6:45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 7 following reports of people being unlawfully in a dwelling.
Dispatched officers learned a number of people were in a home that should have been vacant. When officers arrived they entered to clear the residence.
While inside, police observed a substance believed to be crack cocaine, a quantity of cash and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
As a result of the continued and ongoing investigation, five people were arrested and charged.
The investigation also revealed one of the accused was in violation of a court-ordered condition to reside at a specific address in Toronto.
Jordan JACKSON, 20, of Ajax, Ont., is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling
Gioacchino Jack RICCHIO, 21, of Toronto, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling
• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Failure to Comply with Judicial Release
Luis Mariano LAGUILLONA, 49, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling
• Obstruct Peace Officer
Alicia May YOUNG, 32, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling
Brenda Lee HARPER, 39, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
• Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling
All five appeared in bail court on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
JACKSON, RICCHIO, and LAGUILLONA were all remanded into custody with future appearance dates. YOUNG and HARPER were released with future appearance dates.
