Two men from southern Ontario face multiple charges relating to drug trafficking in Thunder Bay following the search of a north-side home Wednesday morning.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Intelligence Unit attended a residential address in the 200 block of Marlborough Street at about 8:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19 following reports of unwanted people in an apartment.

When officers arrived they observed evidence of drug trafficking activity. Two suspects were located, taken into custody and transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.

Meanwhile, investigators sought and obtained a search warrant that allowed them to search the Marlborough Street home.

As a result of that search, police located and seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

Cash seized totals more than $37,000 CAD, and the estimated street value of drugs seized totals more than $15,000.

Arif MIAH, 26, of Cambridge, Ont., is charged with:

• Unlawfully in Dwelling House
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking

Jawad SAMI, 24, of Toronto, is charged with:

• Unlawfully in Dwelling House
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking

Both appeared in bail court on Thursday, April 20 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
