One person was arrested after an overnight stabbing incident.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to the 200 block of Amelia Street just after 2 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, after receiving reports of an assault.

Responding officers located a security guard with injuries consistent with a stabbing. Officers and paramedics provided medical assistance and the victim was transported to hospital for treatment of injuries that are considered not life threatening.

The investigation led to a suspect being identified. The suspect was located and arrested by members of the Break and Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit later Thursday.

Patrick Simon Raymond WOOD, 33, of Thunder Bay, is charged with the following:

  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Uttering Threats
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Breach of Probation x4

WOOD appeared in court on Thursday and has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
