A late night nap in a fast food drive-through has resulted in impaired driving charges.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to a restaurant on the 700 block of Memorial Avenue just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, after receiving reports of a suspected impaired driver.
Responding officers found a vehicle parked in the drive-through lane with the driver asleep behind the wheel.
The driver was awoken and officers observed multiple signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further testing and processing.
A 41-year-old woman from Windsor is charged with Impaired Operation of a Vehicle and Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus).
The accused has been released from custody with a future court date. The vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
