Thunder Bay Police responded to a serious collision between a vehicle and a female pedestrian last night at 9:45 p.m. A TBPS Uniform Patrol supervisor and a nearby CP Railway Police officer arrived on scene and performed CPR on the victim. Fire and EMS then arrived on scene and continued to provide the woman with emergency first aid. She was transported to hospital by Superior North EMS, where she was later pronounced deceased.
The victim is a 49-year-old Thunder Bay woman. Next of kin notifications are still taking place at this time. She was in a wheelchair in a southbound lane of Memorial Avenue near 10th Avenue when she was struck by a southbound vehicle. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, as did a number of witnesses.
