Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle collision at about 3:45 p.m. on Monday, May 25 in the 1500 block of Oliver Road.

At the scene officers found a pick-up truck had left the roadway and collided with a rock on the front lawn of a residential address.

An investigation found a male driver and male passenger were travelling westbound on Oliver Road when they became involved in a verbal argument.

During the argument the passenger allegedly grabbed the arm of the driver, which caused the vehicle to turn abruptly to the right and enter a nearby ditch. The vehicle continued until it came to rest after colliding with a large boulder.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

As a result of the investigation, the passenger was arrested and transported to the Thunder Bay Police Service headquarters.

A 56-year-old Thunder Bay is charged with Assault and Mischief Endangering Life.

He has been released from custody with a future court date.
