Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a residential address in the 200 block of Amelia Street West just before 11 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23 following reports that people had forced their way into an apartment to deal drugs.

When police arrived, an investigation revealed two individuals had been living and dealing drugs out of an apartment unit without consent. These individuals were preventing tenants from leaving the apartment.

Police entered the apartment and detained the two male suspects without further incident. Police also observed a substance believed to be cocaine and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking in the apartment.

A further search of the apartment led to the discovery and seizure of a quantity of suspected crack cocaine and Canadian currency.

Elijah Clarke, 18, of no fixed address, is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, and Forcible Confinement x 2.

Kiaeem Khalil GORDON, 19, of no fixed address, is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, and Forcible Confinement x 2.

Both appeared in bail court on Friday, Jan. 24, and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
