Police officers located and arrested a wanted man with assistance from the OPP’s Kenora detachment Monday.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were on general patrol just after 2:15 p.m. on Monday Oct. 5 when they were informed by dispatchers about a male wanted by the OPP possibly being in the area.
The male was wanted on charges linked to a sexual assault investigation.
Two TBPS officers at a red light at the intersection of Balmoral Street and the Harbour Expressway spotted a vehicle matching the description of the wanted male’s vehicle. Further investigation revealed the vehicle was being driven by this wanted male.
Additional units were dispatched to the area and a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of the Harbour Expressway and Highway 11-17.
The male was arrested without further incident.
Chemar GUILLAUME, 31, of Toronto, was transferred to the OPP and was expected to appear in court to face the charges against him.
