A local resident faces charges after assaulting a police officer in an attempt to avoid being arrested.
An officer with the Thunder Bay Police Service's Break and Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit attempted to arrest a suspect wanted on an outstanding warrant outside a business in the 900 block of Red River Road on Thursday, August 8.
The suspect resisted arrest and assaulted the officer before fleeing on foot.
The suspect was located and arrested a short time later after attempting to evade arrest by jumping over fences and running across roadways.
Quinn CHEECHOO, 30, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Assaulting a Peace Officer, Resisting a Peace Officer, and Failure to Comply with a Probation Order.
The accused appeared in court on Friday, August 9, and has been remanded into custody.
