Police arrested a Thunder Bay man and seized drugs valued at more than a quarter-of-a-million dollars following the search of a north-side home Wednesday evening.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at a residential address in the 300 block of High Street North just before 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

The warrant was obtained as a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activity at that address.

When police entered the home, they located and arrested a male suspect. The accused was transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.

Following a search of the home police located and seized a quantity of suspected hydromorphone tablets, hydromorphone, oxycodone tablets, morphine tablets, cocaine, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

The estimated street value of drugs seized totals nearly $270,000 CAD.

Evan Robert NUMMIKOSKI, 27, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Hydromorphone for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Morphine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

He appeared in bail court on Thursday, Oct. 6 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
