An overnight collision has resulted in one person facing multiple charges.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch observed a vehicle leaving a business in the 900 block of Fort William Road with merchandise that appeared to be stolen at about 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9.
The vehicle then took off at a high rate of speed.
Within minutes, officers observed the vehicle crashed into a building in the 600 block of Simpson Street.
The suspect fled on foot and was eventually arrested.
A 43-year-old man is charged with the following:
- Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence
- Dangerous Operation
- Operation While Impaired
- Operation While Prohibited
- Failure to Comply with a Release Order
- Failure to Comply with a Probation Order
The accused appeared in court later Tuesday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
The Thunder Bay Police Service Traffic Unit is involved in the ongoing investigation.
