Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch noticed a motorist driving erratically in the 700 block of Simpson Street around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and questioned the female motorist about her driving behavior. During this conversation officers noticed several signs indicating the driver was likely impaired by drugs.
The woman was arrested and transported to the Thunder Bay Police Service headquarters for further screening.
Further tests conducted by a Drug Recognition Evaluator confirmed the woman was impaired by drugs.
A 31-year-old Thunder Bay woman is charged with Operation While Impaired by Drugs.
She was released on a promise to appear with a future court date.
