An impaired motorist who appears to have used his truck’s horn as a pillow woke up the residents of a southside neighbourhood early Friday morning.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response Branch were dispatched to the 1200-block area of Victoria Avenue East just after 4:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 following reports of a vehicle’s horn being blown incessantly.
Police located the vehicle in question – a black pickup truck – just after 4:45 a.m. and observed an unconscious male in the driver’s seat slumped over the steering wheel.
Further investigation revealed the truck the male was sleeping in had been reported stolen.
Officers approached the male suspect and took him into custody. During this interaction, officers observed several signs of impairment.
The accused was later transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.
Jordin Ashtin FLYNN, 37, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Possession of Methamphetamine
He appeared in bail court on Friday, Feb. 10 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
