Four people face charges after a search warrant was executed at a south-side residence, resulting in the seizure of suspected cocaine and cash.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service Intelligence Unit had started an investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity in April.

The continued investigation led to a search warrant being obtained. The warrant was executed at a residential address in the 400 block of Archibald Street South on Wednesday, July 24.

The search resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected cocaine with estimated street value of about $80,000, along with paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and cash.

Four suspects were located within the residence and were arrested.

Omotayo Kayode AKINFOLARIN, 24, of Toronto and a 16-year-old from Whitby are each charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000, and Obstructing a Peace Officer. The youth is also charged with Breach of a Release Order.

Timothy John TILLING, 54, of Thunder Bay and Michelle Margaret TURPIN, 50, of Thunder Bay, are each charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000.

The accused all appeared in court on Thursday and have been remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
