Evidence collected by police from an October break in, and continued investigative efforts, led to the arrest of a suspect Wednesday.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Patrol Support Callback (PSC) Unit were made aware on Wednesday, Oct. 7 of a break in that occurred at a business in the 100 block of South Hardisty Street. The break and enter was believed to have taken place between the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 6 and the early morning hours of Wednesday. Oct. 7.
A member of the PSC Unit who was also a trained Scenes of Crime Officer attended the business to process the scene and gather evidence. Some evidence collected was sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for further analysis.
As a result of the continued investigative efforts, and the forensic evidence collected, officers were able to identify a male suspect.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Break and Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit became involved in the investigation. In the afternoon hours of Wednesday, Dec. 16, BEAR Unit officers located the suspect in the 100 block of Brodie Street South and arrested him without incident.
The accused was transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.
Christopher William BOUCHER, 41, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Break and Enter.
He appeared in bail court on Thursday, Dec. 17 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
