One person has been charged with arson after a south-side residential fire.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Primary Response branch were dispatched to a residential address in the 100 block of Bethune Street at about 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, after receiving reports of a structural fire.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue crews were already on scene and worked to bring the fire under control. Fire personnel advised officers that arson was suspected.
The investigation led to officers locating a suspect matching the description of an individual seen leaving the scene around the time that the fire was discovered. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
Jordan FISHER, 32, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Arson, Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence, Possession of Break-In Instruments, and Breach of Recognizance.
The accused appeared in court on Wednesday and has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
