Police have arrested and charged three people in connection with an investigation into ongoing drug trafficking of fentanyl and cocaine.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit, with assistance from members of the OPP, executed a search warrant at two residential addresses in the 500-block of McIntosh Street at about 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26.

When officers entered the first apartment connected to this investigation they located and arrested a suspect without incident. A second suspect, who was attempting to hide from police outside of the residence, was also located and arrested after a brief struggle.

A third suspect was located and arrested without incident at a second nearby residential address linked to this investigation.

As a result of their search, police located a quantity of cocaine, fentanyl, cash and a firearm.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized totals more than $44,000CAD.

Jahlil Malik PINNOCK, 24, of Whitby, Ont., is charged with possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, Obstruct Peace Officer, and Failure to Comply with a Judicial Release.

Tyler Wilbert LYSY, 44, of Thunder Bay is charged with Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.

Tiffany Jessilyn Samantha THOMPSON, 31, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000, Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm.

All three appeared in bail court on Wednesday, May 27 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.

The investigation is ongoing.
