Police arrested two southern Ontario men, and seized nearly $30,000 in cash suspected to have been obtained through crime, amid an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Intelligence Unit observed two suspects connected to an drug trafficking investigation in the area of 1165 Arthur Street West just before 10:40 a.m. on Monday Aug. 31.
The two males were arrested without incident a short time later.
As a result of their ongoing investigation, officers obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s vehicle around 5 p.m. that same day. From that search police seized a quantity of cash believed to be between $25,000 and $30,000 CAD and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
A 32-year-old of Toronto is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.
A 27-year-old of Woodbridge, Ont., is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.
Both appeared in bail court on Tuesday, Sept. 1 and were remanded into custody with a future appearance date of Thursday, Sept. 3.
