A local resident faces child pornography charges after police executed a search warrant last month.
Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service's Cyber Crime Unit began an investigation after learning that a local internet user was suspected of downloading and making child pornography available between March and April 2024.
Thunder Bay Police Service members executed a search warrant at a residence on Frederica Street West in May.
An electronic device was seized from the residence.
As a result of the investigation, the suspect turned himself in to police on the morning of Wednesday, June 5.
Kevin SYRJANEN, 27, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Possession of Child Pornography, Accessing Child Pornography, and Making Available Child Pornography.
SYRJANEN appeared in court on Wednesday and has been remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
