A Thunder Bay woman is facing a number of Cannabis Act charges following an ongoing investigation by the Thunder Bay Police Service.
Investigators with the TBPS Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant on May 20, 2020 at a Georgina Bay residence. The home appeared to have been used as an illegal store which sold cannabis products including edibles. A number of products believed to contain cannabis were seized. The occupant of the home was taken into custody without incident.
42-year-old Tesh Alleena WARD has been charged under the Cannabis Act with the following:
- 10(2) - Possessing for the purpose of selling
- 12(1)(a) - Obtain or offer to obtain cannabis by any method or process
- 13(1) - Possess, produce, sell, distribute or import anything with intention to use it to produce, sell or distribute illicit cannabis
- 18(1) - False promotion of cannabis
- 17(1) - Unauthorized promotion of cannabis, accessory or service
- 29 - Unauthorized display of cannabis
- 31 - Sell, distribute cannabis in a way appealing to young persons
WARD was also charged under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act for operating a business previously ordered to be closed contrary to Section 7.0.2(5).
WARD has been released from custody and has a court date of July 31, 2020.
