A Thunder Bay Police Service officer was dispatched to a residential address at the Lakehead University Residence to follow up on a reported robbery not in progress on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

The initial incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 28 at a different location, but was not initially reported to police. Lakehead University became aware of the incident and requested Thunder Bay Police Service assistance.

Through an investigation, police learned that on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 28 three people were in the 300 block of High Street North when they were approached by three young males unknown to them and asked “excuse me, can I have your wallet?”

The males were denied their request and walked away. The involved individuals were left frightened by the occurrence.

The TPBS strongly encourages anyone who believes they may have been the victim of a crime to contact police and formally report the incident as soon as possible.
