The Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting public assistance in identifying the suspect connected to a recent break and enter investigation.

Police were originally dispatched to the 100 block of South Algoma Street where a break and enter had taken place possibly around 6:45 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 4, 2020 at the Lakehead Unitarian Fellowship Hall.

An investigation revealed a suspect entered the church through forced entry. The suspect then left with a flat-screen television and other un-disclosed items. After leaving the church the suspect fled southbound through a laneway that runs north and south between Algoma Street and Machar Avenue.

The suspect is described as having a very slim or slender build, but no other descriptors are available at this time. The suspect wore winter clothing with a hiking bag on their back at the time of the incident.

This investigation is now being led by officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Break and Enter and Armed Robbery (BEAR) Unit. As a result of the ongoing investigation police obtained, and are now releasing to the public, surveillance video footage showing a suspect leaving the church.
