Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a business in the zero-to-100 block of Court Street North in response to a security alarm just before 1 a.m. Monday, March 18.
When officers arrived they found the accused male was still inside the business. When the man noticed the officers he fled southbound, but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.
Upon further investigation officers learned the accused had stolen various items from the business and also caused some damage to the property.
About eight minutes elapsed between the time the accused entered the business and the arrest.
A 34-year-old Thunder Bay man is charged with Breaking, Entering and Committing; Mischief Under $5,000; Failing to Comply With Condition Undertaking; Probation Order Non-Compliance.
He is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning. The accused cannot be named prior to these charges being sworn to.
