The Thunder Bay Police Service is embarking on an initiative to have the Seven Grandfather Teachings proudly displayed on the Balmoral Street station.
Today, a Call for Artists was publicly issued to invite community members to submit their application to create the design for the project.
The artwork will be installed on the second-floor windows at the front of the building, highly visible to anyone entering and everyone driving by on Balmoral Street. The display will also include the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Community Inclusion Team’s Gawendum Gaakina Awaya (Protect Everyone/Everything) statement.
The Seven Grandfather Teachings are Courage, Respect, Honesty, Truth, Humility, Love, and Wisdom.
This project aligns with the Thunder Bay Police Service’s commitment to advancing Truth and Reconciliation.
This initiative is supported by funding from the City of Thunder Bay’s Clean, Green and Beautiful Committee.
