Police arrested and charged and female suspect following an incident that sent another female to the hospital with serious injuries.
At about 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 23 Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were alerted to a possible assault that had taken place earlier in the evening at a residential address in the 100 block of Finlayson Street.
An investigation revealed a 27-year-old female victim was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for treatment of serious injuries sustained during an assault.
Police learned the victim and accused, both known to each other, were involved in an altercation inside the Finlayson Street home. The victim sustained serious injuries during the altercation.
When investigators returned to the Finlayson Street home they located and arrested the accused without further incident.
Destiny PAPASSAY, 26, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Aggravated Assault
• Assault with a Weapon
• Failure to Comply with a Judicial Release
She appeared in bail court on Friday, July 24 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date of Monday, July 27.
