Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Intelligence Unit arrested an accused for breaching parole less than three hours after being released.

The accused was released from the Thunder Bay District Jail just before 2pm on June 26. He was arrested just before 4pm at a restaurant in the 800 block of Memorial Avenue.

The accused was observed meeting with known criminals, which constitutes a breach of his parole conditions.

Noel PEREZ, 23, has been returned to custody.

Firearms and Drugs Seized - Update

As a result of ongoing investigations, the Thunder Bay Police Service conducted two high risk vehicle stops just after 10:00 p.m. on January 1, 2017.

The first vehicle containing two males and a female was stopped on Memorial Ave. A search of the vehicle and occupants revealed that both male occupants had loaded handguns in their possession as well as cash and drugs believed to be cocaine and oxycodone.

The second vehicle containing three females and a male was stopped about 15 minutes later on High Street at Oliver Road. A loaded handgun was located in this vehicle along with a large quantity of cash and a variety of drugs believed to be marihuana, cocaine and oxycodone.

A search warrant was executed just before 11:00 p.m. on a residence located in the 300 block of Prescott Crescent. Once the residence was secured by the Emergency Tactical Unit, Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Branch and the Forensic Unit located two shotguns and a handgun in the residence.

Two of the firearms have been confirmed to have been previously reported as stolen.

The following persons have appeared in court this morning on the following charges and were remanded into custody:

- Next court date is January 6th, 2017

Noel Perez - 21 years old from Ottawa, Ontario
- 8x Weapons Offences
- 2x Fail to Comply with Recognizance
- Next court date is January 5th, 2017

Jonathan Ranger - 33 years old
- 12x Weapons Offences
- 2x Drug Trafficking Offences
- Drug Possession (Marihuana)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Breach of Probation
- Next court date is January 6th, 2017

Nadine Sainnawap - 24 years old from Thunder Bay, Ontario
- 6x Weapons Offences
- 2x Drug Possession Offences
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Next court date is January 9th, 2017

Jonathan Ranger is currently wanted in Ottawa on a number of outstanding charges. The Thunder Bay Police have been in contact with the Ottawa Police Service over this incident.
