Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch responded to reports of a robbery at a convenience store in the 100 block of Cumberland Street North that had occurred just after 10 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28.
When police arrived they learned a female suspect had entered the store and began to take store merchandise without paying. Staff witnessing the theft requested the accused return the items.
The suspect then threw cola bottles at staff as they attempted to stop her. The suspect threatened staff with a newspaper stand before breaking it and attempting to break a glass door with the metal shelf.
Officers located and arrested the suspect minutes after arriving on scene.
Ashley Deidre TOSET, 35, of Thunder Bay is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Robbery, and Mischief Under $5,000.
She appeared in bail court Tuesday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
