The Administrative Services Branch is made up of the following units and services: Court security, case management, digital evidence, criminal records checks, and communications (911 and fire)
COURT SERVICES
Court Security is provided to the Thunder Bay Courthouse by the Thunder Bay Police Service. The unit consists of sworn uniformed members and civilian special constables. Unlike most other units, court services members' base of operations is not at the TBPS headquarters, but at the Thunder Bay Courthouse at 125 Brodie Street North.
DIGITAL EVIDENCE
Members working within the digital evidence unit are tasked with collecting and managing the digital evidence obtained throughout an investigation. This includes the collection and management of all body-worn and in-camera footage collected by the TBPS.
COMMUNICATIONS (911 & FIRE)
In an emergency, members of the public will call 911 and immediately be connected to a dispatcher within the communications unit. These civilian members fulfill a special role in ensuring the public has access to our emergency first responders during an emergency or crisis. They work closely with various units from the TBPS's operations branches.
CASE MANAGEMENT
Members operating with Case Management are responsible for building criminal case files that will be provided to the Ministry of the Attorney General for review and prosecution. This represents an important step toward moving justice forward from the investigative process and into the courts.
