Armed Robbery – Suspect to ID

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to reports of a robbery at convenience store in the 200 block of Red River Road at about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17.

Police learned that a male had entered the Cathy’s Discount Gift Centre and demanded cigarettes and cash from the clerk. The accused was armed with what is believed to be a handgun during the robbery.

The male left the convenience store with cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash. The accused was last seen heading eastbound on Red River Road toward Water Street.

Robbery Suspect to ID

The Thunder Bay Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in the robbery of a southside convenience store.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to a reported robbery of a convenience store in the 600 block of Arthur Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019 following reports that two suspects had robbed a Circle K store.

Suspect demanded money from the store clerk and fled with cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Robbery Arrest

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to a reported robbery of a convenience store in the 600 block of Arthur Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019.

Officers learned that two suspects had entered the Circle K store and demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk. The suspects left the store with cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police, with assistance from the K-9 Unit, later arrested one of the suspects a short distance away.

Lennox Atlookan, 19, of Thunder Bay, has been charged with Robbery.

Attempted Robbery, Threats

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6 in the 1000-block of Fort William Road.

When officers arrived they learned the male suspect had asked another male for a sum of money and their mobile phone. The request was refused, at which point the accused male threatened and assaulted the victim.

Responding officers found a male matching the description of the suspect and made an arrest within 10 minutes of arriving at the scene.

Robbery Suspects to ID

The Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a robbery.

Officers were dispatched to Walkover Street and Clarkson Avenue just after 2 a.m. on Dec. 19, 2018, following reports that a cab driver had been robbed by two males.

The cab driver picked up one male outside of The Foundry bar on Red River Road and a second male at the corner of Court Street and Red River Road.

Robbery Arrest

A 39-year-old Thunder Bay man is in custody facing a number of charges following a foot chase and apprehension by Uniform Patrol officers yesterday morning.

The man had fled the Shoppers Drug Mart at 901 Red River Road just after 11:00 a.m. following an altercation with a store employee. The man had been confronted when he was attempting to leave the store without paying for merchandise. The male claimed to have a weapon and then ran from the store. The employee was not injured in the confrontation.

Robbery arrest

Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a southside convenience store following reports of a robbery on Friday, Nov. 16 at about 9:22 p.m.

When officers arrived at the Mac's Convenience store in the 700 block of Simpson Street they were given the description of a male who had entered the business with a knife and attempted to rob the store clerks.

At about 9:25 p.m. investigating officers located a male matching the description of the suspect.

Assault and robbery

The Thunder Bay Police Service is looking for two suspects involved in the early morning assault and robbery of a cab driver.

Officers responded to the reported incident at about 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018 on McKenzie Street between Pruden and Finlayson Streets.

Quick Response Results in Robbery Arrest

Officers with the Community Response Team arrested a male shortly after responding to a robbery that had just occurred at the Mac's Convenience Store located on North Edward Street on September 13, 2018 at approximately 10:15 p.m.

The Community Response Team was doing directed patrol in the Northwood area in response to recent robberies in the area when the call for service for the robbery was dispatched.

An officer observed a male on Ashland Street and detained him while an officer spoke to the staff at the store and obtained a description of the suspect.

Robbery Suspect Arrested

The male responsible for the August 19, 2018 attempted robbery at the Thunder Pet store on Mountdale Avenue has been identified and arrested.

Officers with the Community Response Team observed the suspect in this incident in a parking lot on West Frederica Street around 2:00 p.m. on August 29, 2018.

They approached him, confirmed his identity and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Balmoral Police Station and was charged with Robbery.
