How do I get a Police Records Check?

To get a  Police Records Check completed you can attend the  Police Records Check office at police headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street:

When?  Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday (Police Records Check​ is closed Fridays).

The staff in the Criminal Record Intake Office will be able to assist you. What you'll need to bring along are 2 pieces of government-issued identification, one of which must contain your photo. If you need the Criminal Record search for school or employment reasons remember the process can take upwards of six weeks to complete.

Using the Thunder Bay Police Service Police Online Citizen Reporting System you can report the following incidents:

  • Damage/Mischief to property under $5000.00
  • Damage (Not Wilful)
  • Harassing Phone Call
  • Lost and Found Property
  • Lost/Stolen License Plate
  • Lost/Stolen Securities (Identification)
  • Theft under $5000.00
  • Theft from Vehicle under $5000.00
  • Break In to Sheds and Detached Garages
